Who can apply for a new residence card from SIRI based on the Withdrawal Agreement?

When you have been granted residence in Denmark based on the Withdrawal Agreement between the EU and the United Kingdom, you will receive your residence card automatically.

The residence card is proof of your right to reside in Denmark.

The card is automatically sent to the address you register in the Civil Registration System (CPR).

You will normally receive your residence card 2-3 weeks after you have been granted residence in Denmark.

You should only use this page to apply for a new card if

  • you need a new residence card and
  • you have residence in Denmark based on the Withdrawal Agreement between the EU and the United Kingdom.

When can I apply for a new residence card?

You can apply for a new residence card if

  • You did not receive the residence card we sent you when you were granted residence based on the Withdrawal Agreement,
  • you have lost you residence card or it has been destroyed,
  • there has been changes to your personal data as they appear on the residence card (e.g. name change) or
  • you are below 18 years of age and have not previously been issued a residence card, but now need a residence card

If you have lost your residence card, you must remember to complete the police declaration concerning a lost passport or identity document (P 650-031).

You can also get the declaration at the local police station.

The declaration must be signed and stamped by the police and it must be submitted along with your application for a new residence card.

If you want a new card because changes have been made to your personal data after you received your residence card, you must submit documentation of the changes to your personal data.

For example, if you have changed your name, you must submit documentation of your name change.

What more do I need to know before I apply?

If you hold a residence permit based on the Withdrawal Agreement between the EU and the United Kingdom, your application for a new residence card will be processed by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).

If you hold a residence permit based on work, study, residence to obtain a Danish authorisation, Working Holiday, an internship or au pair stay or as an accompanying family member, your application for a new residence card will likewise be processed by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI). You must not, however, use the form on this page, but instead use the online application form KO1 here

If asylum or family reunification is the basis of your residence permit, your application for a new residence card is processed by the Danish Immigration Service

If you choose the printable form KO1/BREXIT, it must be completed and submitted in person at one of our branch offices together with the relevant documentation.

The printable application form in Word format can be completed on screen before you print. The application form in pdf format must be printed first and then completed by hand.

If you have the right to permanent residence based on the Withdrawal Agreement, you can also choose the online form KO1/SIRI.

If you choose to complete KO1/SIRI online, you must make sure you have all documents ready in a digital format, in order to attach them to the online application form.

Recording of biometrics 

When you apply for a new residence card, regardless of whether you ahve applied online or by submitting a printable application form, you must have your biomeric features recorded (facial image and fingerprints). Your facial image and fingerprints will be stored on a microchip embedded in the card.

You must bring

You have submitted your application correctly if you have:

  • submitted the application
  • had your biometric features recorded
  • paid for a new residence card (except in certain cases)

SIRI will contact you if we need further information to process your case.

Your residence card will automatically be sent to the address that has been registered under your name in the Civil Registration System (CPR). It is important that your name is written on your mailbox. If your name is not written on your mailbox, there is a chance that the residence card will not be delivered to you, and that it will be sent back to SIRI instead.
