This page provides information about what happens, when you have been granted a convention passport (Danish travel document) or an alien’s passport.

When your convention passport or alien’s passport is ready, it will be send to the address you are registered with in the Civil Registration System (CPR).
If your Danish travel documents or alien's passport is damaged, you can apply for a new one. Make sure to enclose the damaged passport with the application.
If you lose your Danish travel documents or alien's passport, you must report it to the police. You must fill out a declaration regarding a lost passport, which you get from the police. When you fill out the declaration it is important that you get a copy of the declaration and that you this copy when you apply for a new passport.
The Immigration Service can block your convention passport or alien’s passport in the Civil Registration System if:
- You hold a national passport (issued after you were granted a Danish residence permit) and a convention passport or alien’s passport, and refuse to deposit one of them at the Immigration Service
Furthermore, the Immigration Service can block your alien’s passport in the Civil Registration System if:
- You no longer maintain a residence in Denmark and are listed in the Civil Registration System as living abroad
If your passport is blocked, you will no longer be able to use it to travel abroad.
