Permanent residence - Examples of uninterrupted and interrupted education or work since the end of primary school
In order to be able to qualify for a permanent residence permit according to the lenient requirements when you are 18 or 19 year old, you need to have been enrolled in school or had regular, full-time employment continuously since completing primary school (folkeskolen). Examples of uninterrupted education or ordinary full-time employment since the end of primary school – situations where you will meet the requirement
Before you finish primary school (9th grade), you have enrolled in 10th grade, where you will begin after the summer holidays by ordinary school start. Before you finish your 10th grade, you enroll in an education where you begin by ordinary study start after the summer holidays.

Examples of interrupted education or work since the end of primary school – situations where you will not meet the requirement
Before you finish primary school (9th grade), you have enrolled in 10th grade, where you begin after the summer holidays by ordinary school start. In January, you withdraw from 10th grade and halt your education in 10th grade. You then contact a student counselor to discuss whether you should apply for a new education or whether you should apply for a job. After discussions with your student counselor, you sign up for an education in March, where you will be admitted to study after the summer holidays. You decide to find a 20-hour part-time job while you wait to begin your education by ordinary study start after the summer holidays.
