SIRI resumes the case processing in a number of cases for internships in the green sector, herdsmen and farm managers

SIRI now resumes the case processing for the majority of applications from foreigners with educational documents from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania that have applied for a residence permit as an intern in the green sector, a herdsman or a farm manager.

In April 2026, SIRI decided to suspend a number of cases where educational documents from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania were submitted. The purpose was to uncover circumstances that are significant for the case processing, including the authenticity of the applicants' educational documents, in collaboration with the Danish National ID Centre (NIDC), among others. NIDC has now reported back to SIRI, and SIRI can therefore resume the case processing in a large portion of the cases while a small portion is still unresolved.

If you have a pending case that was suspended, you do not need to do anything

You will be oriented specifically about your case and the expected case processing time.

A resume of the case processing does not mean that we can decide on your case straight away. SIRI will assess each case individually and take all necessary steps in the process, such as requesting further information or hear the parties in the case.
