New practice regarding the requirement of a work permit for artists, musicians, performers, etc.

The new practice concerns the requirement of a work permit for artists etc. participating in a short-term artistic event

SIRI has changed its practice concerning when an artist, musician, performer etc. and associated staff may be exempt from the requirement of a work permit.

This means that the event in which the artist, musician etc. will be participating must now be short-term in order for the artist to be exempt from the requirement of a work permit. As a rule, the event must therefore last no longer than 14 days. Is the duration of the artistic event longer, it can be SIRIs assessment that the artist is not exempt from the work permit requirement.

This practice has taken effect and applies to everybody who has not already received a guiding statement from SIRI on whether or not they are exempted from the requirement of a work permit.

The change of practice has been done in order to align administrative practice with the original intention of the law.
