At the moment SIRI has difficulties meeting service goals due to the COVID-19 situation

If you have submitted an application to SIRI, you must at the moment expect a longer case processing time than normal. This is mainly due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) which meant a partial lockdown of SIRI. We therefore have a large number of cases currently being processed.

We are working to resolve applications for residence and work permits as quickly as possible, but as applicant, place of internship or employer, you must at the moment expect an extended case processing time.

We are unfortunately not able to inform you how long the case processing times are for specific schemes or for specific cases. The difficulties apply especially to applications submitted under the following schemes:

  • The Pay Limit Scheme
  • Internships
  • Herdsmen and farm managers
  • Special individual qualifications
  • The Positive List (for the highly educated)
  • Start-up Denmark
  • Greencard extensions
  • Residence in Greenland and on the Faroe Islands
  • Accompanying family to the above mentioned schemes
  • Family reunification with a Danish Citizen after the EU rules

SIRI's service goals

SIRI has established service goals for most case types. The service goals indicate how long an applicant can expect to wait for a decision for a residence and work permit. The service goal is calculated from the day the application is submitted and until a decision has been reached. Service goals for processing an application varies from 1 to 3 months depending on the type of application.
