Foreign employees and students now have to pay partially to learn Danish

Introduction of partial user payment for courses in Danish language.

From 1. July 2018 all self supporting attendents to courses in Danish language including foreign employees and students have to pay DKK 2.000 per module. A Danish course will typically consist of six modules.

This new user payment scheme is a result of the passing on 4. June 2018 by the Danish parliament of the bill L 255 - amendment of the law regarding education in Danish language for adult foreigners.

Refugees and family reunification holders are not included in the user payment scheme, and they will still be able to take Danish couses for free. Au pairs are also not included as the host family already pays part of the expenses for Danish lessons under the present rules.
