SIRI adjusts the documentation requirements for a municipal permit in Fast Track applications to Greenland

As of 15 May 2023, it will be required to submit documentation proving that the company has the relevant municipal permit, when applying for a residence and work permit via the Fast Track Scheme in Greenland.

So far, SIRI has not required any documentation from the company, which the applicant is applying to work for, proving that the company has the necessary municipal permit for hiring external labour, when applying for a residence and work permit via the Fast Track Scheme in Greenland.

However, this practice will change on 15 May 2023. In the future, the practice will lay down the same requirements for which documentation the applicant needs to submit, regardless of whether the application is submitted via the Fast Track Scheme or the ordinary work scheme.

This means, that the applicant must submit a municipal permit issued by a Greenlandic municipal (Permission to hire external labour), when applying for a residence and work permit in Greenland via the Fast Track Scheme or via the ordinary work scheme. The applicant must submit the municipal permit in addition to the application form, passport and contract.

This adjustment of the documentation requirement has also been updated in the application form for the Fast Track Scheme in Greenland, the GL5 form, which can be found on the relevant application page at the second step Complete the application under the tab How to apply.
