Extension of a residence permit on the grounds of family reunification

If you are a foreign national granted a temporary Danish residence permit on the grounds of family reunification, you can have your residence permit extended.

Please note: the rules for residence permits granted to accompanying family members of a person who has been granted a temporary residence permit on the grounds of employment or studies differ from the rules for residence permits granted on the grounds of family reunification with a person who has no temporary residence permit in Denmark on the grounds of employment or studies.

If your residence permit was granted to you as an accompanying family member of a person with a residence permit granted on grounds of employment or study, your application will be processed by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration.
