Status on the processing of the remaining applications for a Greencard
On 2 June 2016 the Danish Parliament passed a bill to repeal the Greencard scheme. The change meant that from 10 June 2016 it was no longer possible to submit new applications under the Greencard scheme.
In the days before 10 June 2016 the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration received a large number of applications for residence permits under the Greencard scheme.
We now expect to finish processing these applications during the first few months of 2017.
The large number of applications also means the Agency is unable to meet the service goal in all cases.
Please note that it is still possible to apply for an extension of an existing Greencard. Likewise it is still possible to apply for a residence permit as an accompanying family member to a person holding a Greencard.
