The processing time is calculated from the time an admissible application has been registered in the Visa Information System. An application is considered admissible when the representation has established that you meet the Schengen requirements for lodging an application.
Decisions about visa applications must normally be made within 15 days. Some applications will be referred to the Danish Immigration Service for processing. If your application is referred to the Danish Immigration Service, the processing time may be up to 45 days, as further investigations may be necessary.
Certain nationalities or categories of persons are subject to prior consultation with one or more Schengen States before a visa can be issued. This may extend the processing time.

The maximum processing time of 45 days cannot be exceeded. This means that your application will be decided on the basis of the information available, even if you, your host or any third party have not provided all the information necessary for the processing of your application. If information relating to circumstances that existed and were relevant at the time of processing is received shortly after the decision has been made, but was not received before the decision was taken, the case may in some instances be reopened. In other cases, you will need to submit a new application.
In your individual case, it will rarely be possible to provide a more precise estimate of the expected processing time than that the maximum processing time is 45 days.

In some cases, you as the applicant, your host, or both of you, may be required to provide additional information. Communication with you will take place through the representation where you submitted your application. The Danish Immigration Service will write to the representation, which will then contact you.

Decision on your application
The decision on your application will be sent to the representation where you submitted your application.
