The Immigration Service resumes asylum interviews with persons from Syria

As previously announced, the Immigration Service has continuously collected background information regarding the conditions in Syria, and we are now ready to resume asylum interviews with persons from Syria. The first individuals have been summoned to asylum interviews in December 2025, and throughout 2026 we will gradually summon persons from Syria who have a pending asylum case at the Immigration Service to interviews. As a general rule, interviews will be scheduled in the order we received the applications.

As of 1 December 2025, approximately 600 persons from Syria have a pending asylum case at the Immigration Service.
