Apply for residence permit not to lapse digitally

A new digital application solution makes it possible to apply online for residence permit not to be considered as lapsed.

The Immigration Service’ new digital application form can be used from today 27 January 2022. The digital form is called BF2/US online and can be used to apply for a residence permit not to be considered as lapsed even though you:

  • have stayed outside Denmark for an extended period of time
  • no longer maintain an address in Denmark or
  • are otherwise not included in the Civil Registration System (CPR).

The new digital form can be accessed at ‘Your situation is changing’ here at newtodenmark.dk

BF2/US can be used by applicants who have been granted residence permit by the Immigration Service. Applicants granted residence permit by SIRI must use SIRI’s online form.

BF2/US online automatically adjusts to the user’s current situation during the application process. By doing this BF2/US online makes the application process easier for the user and at the same time contributes to ensuring that the user submits all the relevant and necessary information.

BF2/US online contains a detailed guidance on how to fill out and submit the digital application, and it can be used no matter if the applicant still has a NemID/MitID.

An alternative to paper-based application forms

BF2/US online is an alternative to the paper-based application form BF2/US, which is still available at the relevant application site.
