The Danish Immigration Service releases five new country reports

23 February 2018 the Immigration Service released five new country reports:

  1. Iran: Judicial issues, Joint report from the Danish Immigration Service and Danish Refugee Council based on interviews in Tehran, Iran, and London, United Kingdom, 9 September to 15  September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017
  2. Iran: Relations outside of marriage in Iran and marriages without the accept  of the family, Joint report from the Danish Immigration Service and Danish Refugee Council based on interviews in Tehran, Iran, Ankara, Turkey and London, United Kingdom, 9 September to 16 September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017
  3. Iran: Issues concerning persons of ethnic minorities , including Kurds and Ahwazi Arabs, Joint report from the Danish Immigration Service and Danish Refugee Council based on interviews in Tehran, Iran, Ankara, Turkey and London, United Kingdom, 9 September to 16 September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017
  4. Iran: House Churches and Converts, Joint report from the Danish Immigration Service and Danish Refugee Council based on interviews in Tehran, Iran, Ankara, Turkey and London, United Kingdom, 9 September to 16 September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017
  5. Iran: Recruitment of Iranian nationals to the war in Syria, Joint report from the Danish Immigration Service and Danish Refugee Council based on interviews in Tehran, Iran, Ankara, Turkey and London, United Kingdom, 9 September to 16 September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017

The reports are based on information gathered by the Immigration Service and the Danish Refugee Council during a fact-finding mission to Tehran, Ankara and London during the periods 9 September to 16 September 2017 and 2 October to 3 October 2017.

The judicial issues report contains information about:

  • Legal documents
  • Bribery in the justice system
  • The consequence of not following issued judicial orders
  • Exit when released on bail or sentenced

The report about relations outside of marriage/marriages without the accept  of the family contains information about:

  • Punishment for relations outside marriage and enforcement of law  in practice
  • Punishment for adultery and enforcement of the law in practice
  • Requirements for religious and civil marriage for a woman marrying a man without the accept  of her family
  • Protection provided by the authorities in matters concerning marriage without the accept  of the family
  • Possibility of internal relocation/resettling in connection honour-related conflicts

The Kurds and Ahwazi Arabs report contains information about the following:

  • Presence and activities of the Iranian authorities in the Kurdish areas in Iran
  • Prevalence of family members of former or current Kurdish activists being targeted by the authorities
  • Former Iranian refugees of  Northern Iraq who return to Iran after having lived in Northern Iraq for a longer period; challenges related to entry and language; persecution of former political activists and/or their family members
  • Presence and activities of the Iranian authorities in Khuzestan and other places where Ahwazi Arabs liv
  • Prevalence of family members of former or current Ahwazi activists being targeted by the authorities
