Short-term visa and extension of visa
New IT system for processing visa applications
In 2008, the Ministry of Integration and the Immigration Service have launched a new IT system for processing visa applications. The system will ensure more up-to-date technical support in case processing and will lead to a smoother application process.
Since the end of January the system has been put into use by all Danish diplomatic missions (embassies and consulates general), and based on the day-to-day experience with the system, changes and improvements will be made.
Once the system is fully operative, applicants and their family members, friends or business contacts in Denmark will be able to receive faster and more precise information about their application. In the transitional phase until then, however, some applicants may experience a decrease in the normal level of service and longer case processing times.
We appologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
