Secure email

If you wish to send confidential or sensitive information by email to the Immigration Service, you should use secure email, i.e. email which has been encrypted and signed with a digital signature/NemID.

The Immigration Service is only allowed to send confidential or sensitive information via secure email.

In order to send or receive secure email, you need to install a digital signature/NemID.

On the website www.danid.dk you can find more information about digital signature/NemID for private individuals and for companies/organisations (in Danish only).

You can download NemID at www.nemid.nu (in Danish only).

Please note: You can only obtain the digital signature/NemID needed for secure email if you are a resident of Denmark and have a Danish CPR number.

In order to send secure email to the Immigration Service, you must encrypt the email with one of the Immigration Service's certificates.

You can get the relevant certificate at DanId' search page. On the search page you must type the mail adress you want e-mail to.

If - as a private individual or a company/organisation - you wish to receive information from the Immigraion Service via secure email, please state this explicitly in your email.
