These arrangements make it easier for citizens of those countries to visit Denmark as tourists.

The travel agency arrangements mean that the Danish diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate) in each of these three countries is authorised to issue visas for up to 30 days to tourists form these countries.

The following requirements must be met:

  • the trip must be organised by a travel agency that has been accredited by the Danish Immigration Service and a travel agency in the country in question that has been accredited by the Danish embassy of the Danish consulate general to take part in the arrangement,
  • the travel agency accredited by the Immigration Service and the travel agency in the country in question established a collaboration agreement, and
  • documentation must be provided proving that the trip is a package deal that includes, at a minimum, transport and a reservation at a hotel.

Each application for a visa is submitted by the travel agency in the country in question. First time applicants who have not had their biometric features recorded must have them recorded. Fingerprints recorded less than 59 months from the submission of the application will normally be valid. The Danish diplomatic mission may call the applicant for an interview or ask for further information.

The visa applicants must still meet the general requirements in order to get a short term visa.

Some of these lists also contain information about travel agencies in Denmark, which are accredited travel agencies.

Accreditation is granted by the Immigration Service on a case-by-case basis as part of a review process that will obtain information from relevant organisations and public authorities.

In order for a travel agency to be accredited it is required, among others things, that the travel agency has existed for at least 2 years unless the owners of the travel agency has previous experience from the travel agency industry and/or other relevant experience from the business industry or organisations.
