Advance approval of company to receive visits from business connections

A company can be given an advance approval to receive business visits from foreign nationals who must hold a visa to enter Denmark.

An advance approvel will make it easier and more flexible for the company to receive business visits from foreign nationals who must hold a visa to enter Denmark, because it will enable much of the communication and processing of the case to be carried out digitally.

Which companies can be given an advance approval?

In order for a company to be given an advance approval

  • it must be registered in Denmark, or be registered abroad and have a division, subsidiary or similar in Denmark
  • it must have a natural commercial need to do business abroad as a result of its registered trade

Furthermore, the company must make available a contact person whom the Danish authorities can contact for a confirmation of the visit and for further information about the contents of the visit, if needed.

You can submit an online application for an advance approval. Read more about how to apply.

Invitation for business visit

When a company has been given an advance approval and wishes to receive a business visit from a foreign national who must hold a visa to enter Denmark, the company must submit an online invitation. Once the invitation has been submitted, the company will automatically receive an invitation ID.

The visa applicant must give this invitation ID at the Danish diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate general) when submitting the visa application. By means of the invitation ID the diplomatic mission can see that the company in Denmark has an advance approval to receive business visits, and that the company has invited the visa applicant.

An advance approval can be revoked

An advance approval can be revoked if the company is found to have obtained it by knowingly giving the authorities false information.

The approval can also be revoked if the requirements for it are no longer being met by the company.

Furthermore, the approval can be revoked if the visas issued to persons who are to visit the company are misused repeatedly, for example, if the visa holder applies for asylum while in Denmark, or otherwise misuses the visa in such a way as to be given a penalty period.
