Important information for Filipino au pairs and their host families

30 November 2010
The Philippine authorities imposes certain requirements of Philippine citizens who have been granted a residence permit as an au pair in Denmark and wish to leave the Philippines.

Please be aware that neither the Norwegian Embassy in Manila nor the Danish Immigration Service can offer any help in cases where a Philippine citizen is not permitted to leave the Philippines. This is strictly a matter concerning the Philippine authorities.

The Danish Immigration Service refers to the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Denmark and the Embassy of the Philippines in Oslo.

Random controls in cases concerning Philippine citizens who apply for a residence permit as an au pair in Denmark.

In a number of cases, the Danish Immigration Service decides to carry out controls with the assistance of the Norwegian Embassy in Manila.

The controls concern the information given in the application form by the applicant about his/her marital status and children, as it is a requirement that the applicant is unmarried and does not have children.

The background for the controls is the fact that the Danish Immigration Service has found that incorrect information about marital status and children was given in a number of cases.

Cases selected for controls will inevitably be delayed. The Danish Immigration Service appologises for any inconvenience this may cause. The affected host families will be informed by the Danish Immigration Service.
