The Administration Department

The Administration Department is responsible for human resource management (HRM) and organizational matters, internal service functions and payroll management. Additionally the department is responsible for the overall coordination of the international collaboration regarding asylum and immigrational matters including secretarial function for the Danish EU Presidency 2012.

The International Division

The main tasks of the division involve international cooperation in the asylum and immigration fields – particularly in connection with the EU and Schengen cooperation together with cooperation between the Nordic countries.

The International Division is concerned with the following tasks:

  • Preparation for the regular EU Council meetings in the field of justice and home affairs
  • The answering of parliamentary questions
  • Preparation of the Minister's visits abroad
  • UN-related work
  • The organisation of international meetings in Denmark

Corporate Center for HRM, Purchases and Service

The Corporate Center for HRM, Purchases and Service is responsible for all matters regarding HRM, purchases and services within the Ministry. Our aim is to make sure that the staff of the Ministry always has the most optimal work environment and jobpossibilities, and to develop and maintain the Ministry as an attractive and highly resource-effective workplace.

Main tasks are HRM, education, organizational matters as well as purchases and internal service.

Furthermore the Corporate Center for HRM, Purchases and Service deals with

  • Recruitment
  • Interpretation of collective bargaining agreements
  • Salary negotiation
  • Administration of staff and personnel policy
  • Gender equality and promotion of diversity in the workforce
  • Development of the capabilities of the workforce, including leadership training
  • Salary- and workpolicy

    The service center handles a broad range of tasks in relation to the day to day operation of the Ministry, for example

  • Coordination of purchases and distribution within the Ministry

    The Control and Analysis Division

    The Division is concerned with monitoring and advising on a broad perspective - that is to say, that the unit has both legal and organisational tasks.

    The Division's tasks are to:

    • Carry out investigations into areas where there is suspicion of possible abuse
    • Making suggestions for changes of procedure in cooperation with other authorities, for example the police or municipalities
    • Review and develop the existing internal monitoring procedures and methods for calculating the quality of case handling
    • Make suggestions for improving the efficient handling of cases in the field of immigration



 

EU-2012 Presidency Secretariat

The EU-2012 Presidency Secretariat is established to coordinate the preparation and implementation of the Danish EU-Presidency during the first six months of 2012 within the portfolio of the Ministry. The Secretariat contributes to the determination of activities during the Danish Presidency and coordinates cases with the many different participants both within the Ministry and with external partners involved. The primary tasks are:

  • Preparation of the work in the JHA working parties (asylum, migration, integration, visa and borders)
  • Planning meetings and conferences in Denmark
  • Preparation of the Minister’s meetings with the EU-institutions and other ministries etc.
  • Contribute to the determination of Danish priorities during the Presidency period
