New family reunification film
A film produced by the Immigration Service provides a quick overview of the family reunification application process – from submitting your forms to receiving your answer. The film is available in Danish and English.
The Immigration Service's new film about family reunification is a first. Envisioned as a supplement to the information already available on the newtodenmark.dk internet portal, the film is envisioned as an additional source of information for anyone seeking to sponsor a spouse, registered partner, permanent partner or child seeking to immigrate to Denmark.
But even with the extra help offered by the film, it will still be necessary to refer to the basic instructions laid out in the application packets and the in-depth explanation of the rules available here on the website. It will also still be possible to call the Immigration Service for help when applying. The film seeks to supplement existing guidelines, not answer all possible questions that could arise when applying for family reunification.
Henrik Grunnet, director of the Immigration Service, says:
- Since 2006, the Immigration Service has worked intensively to improve the way we inform our customers – both by giving them more information and by making it more precise. One specific example of this is new application forms with integrated instructions for how to fill them out. The film will add a new wrinkle for customers. We hope it can contribute to improving the level of service and quality during the application process, as well as give customers a better sense of what happens after they submit their application.
If you are considering applying for family reunification, or if you have already applied but have supplementary information, you may call the Immigration Service at any time. We recommend that you read our
Guide to Telephone Guidance (pdf) before you contact us in order to get a better idea of what we can and can't help you with over the phone.
