Agreement with Russia on the facilitation of the issuance of visas
Denmark and Russia signed on 27 May 2008 a bilateral agreement on the facilitation of the issuance of visas, and the following ratification process is now completed.
According to the agreement citizens with diplomatic passports are now exempt from the visa requirement.
The requirements to documentation of the purpose of a visit will be simplified, and it will now be possible to issue long term multiple-entry visas.
The fee for processing visa applications shall amount to 35 euro, and for some categories of persons the fee for processing the visa application is waived.
The length of procedures for processing visa applications will be maximum 30 days.
In addition to the above mentioned agreement Denmark and Russia also signed on 27 May 2008 an agreement on the readmission of persons residing without authorization. Both agreements enter into force on 1 October 2009.
