Danish job centres

There are 91 job centres located throughout Denmark. There is one job centre in each municipality. However, seven smaller municipalities have established an inter-municipal job centre in cooperation with a neighbouring municipality.

In each job centre you will find free access to a computer as well as general information about how to find a job. Please note that job centres are not able to translate CVs or job vacancies. The concept is self-service, which means that the job centre provides resources enabling you to find work, and an IT system to advertise vacancies for employers by using a job and CV database called 'Jobnet'. You can access the database through the job centre computers or on Jobnet.dk (available in Danish only). Jobnet.dk is the job centres' gateway to the internet for jobseekers and businesses in Denmark.

The 91 job centres take care of the following, among other things:

  • Help companies and job seekers in general, for example:
    - help them use Jobnet or Workindenmark's job and CV bank
    - function as the link between employer and jobseeker
    - provide useful information for jobseekers coming to Denmark (job opportunities, CPR numbers, employment contracts etc.)
  • Advice foreign students on how to find a job and where to get their foreign education accredited
  • Provide information for cross-border commuters between Denmark and Sweden, and Denmark and Germany
  • Know when to consult or involve the international Workindenmark service centres
  • Provide general information to Danish citizens wanting to work abroad or move to other EU/EEA countries
  • Provide information about how to transfer unemployment benefits from Denmark to another EU/EEA country or vice versa

Find your local job centre on Jobnet.dk. This service is available in Danish only. Click on the map to select the area where you live, or choose from the menu below the map. You can also select your municipality from the alphabetical list.
